GENERAL EYE TESTS
The general eye test component is bulk billed for eligible Medicare Card Holders. This may include a Retinal Photo (one for each eye) to screen for eye disease such as macular degeneration, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.
Please note: Medicare does not cover for additional diagnostic tests which are necessary for monitoring and managing preventable eye disease.

In addition to the standard eye test, a behavioural assessment takes a closer look at their eye focussing, eye teaming and eye tracking skills as well as screen for possible vision processing difficulties. Central retinal Images are included.
If required, our optometrist may recommend a dilated fundus examination to be conducted on the same day. This is a drop that makes your pupils bigger for a few hours so that our optometrist can take a good look at the back of your eyes. This test includes additional Digital Retinal Images.
A Retinal Image is included to check the back of your eyes so that you are screened for any serious eye diseases. This fee may be claimable for international health fund holders.
