We look forward to meeting you!
We are an independent practice branch located in Sydney South-East with lovely local staff who are dedicated to improving all aspects of your visual lifestyle. Being behavioural optometrists, we look at more than just “seeing 20/20”…we look at how the eyes work together, your current lifestyle and occupational needs in order to ensure COMFORTABLE vision. We also have a fantastic dispensing staff who are focused on finding the perfect frame to compliment your face shape and match you with a lens suitable for your lifestyle/workplace.
We are two-time winners for “Most Satisfied Customers” in Australia for 2018 and 2019.
We pride ourselves in offering you the best care possible and practice to the latest evidence-based optometry practice available. We are focused on improving your visual experience and maintaining eye health, particularly for preventative or continued eye care. We hold ourselves to the highest standard and want you to come away educated, informed and confident regarding your eye care.
PLEASE bring the following to your appointment:
Medicare card, driver’s license and private Health Fund card (Hicaps claims done on site)
Any prescription and non-prescription eye-drops that you currently use
Any old spectacles that you wear / used to wear
A list of any medications that you are taking
If you have any contact lenses, please wear them to your appointment and bring the contact lens case and the contact lens box or a copy of your contact lens prescription.
Any relevant referrals or reports from your eye specialist or other optometrists
When you arrive, one of our team members will take your details. We’ll also borrow you spectacles to measure their power and ensure they are adjusted properly for you. Our optometrist will then bring you inside a consult room and complete a comprehensive vision and eye health assessment. These eye examinations are bulk-billed under Medicare. Depending on what is seen at the consultation, our optometrist may want to perform additional assessment on another day. If you are aware of any current eye conditions or systemic conditions that can affect the eyes and want additional assessment done on the same day, please inform our staff so we can organise this for you. Additional assessments are not covered under Medicare and may incur an additional fee ranging from $80 to $129 depending on what tests are needed.
PUPIL DILATION
To better evaluate your eye health, the optometrist may need to use drops to dilate your pupils. Side effects of pupil dilation include temporary light sensitivity and reduction in reading vision. On occasion it can temporarily reduce distance vision or make it difficult to see in the distance due to glare. These eye drops take 30 minutes to work and wear away approximately 4 hours after. Therefore, it is advisable to bring your sunglasses and/or arrange a driver to take you home.
